I am super excited to say that ‘Bonding With Baby’ has been NOMINATED in the 2026 ‘What’s on 4 Kids’ Awards & NOW IT’S VOTING TIME! 2026 sees the ‘What’s on 4 Kids’ Awards celebrate their 20th year of running the UK’s most prestigious and longest running awards, championing excellence in the world of kids’ activities. 

15 years on…

As my local business, Bonding With Baby, celebrates 15 years in business this year, I spend time reflecting on where I was when I won my very first Business Award. Founding ‘Bonding With Baby’ in 2011, I spent 2 years running my business part-time, offering my IAIM Infant Massage & Touchlearn Rhythm Kids Courses one day per week, before I took the leap to leave behind my guaranteed wage as a Family Support Worker. I have supported families for over 20 years and focusing on my wee local business full-time enabled me to share my passion with Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, reaching over a hundred families weekly across multiple venues. Starting new 6 week blocks of ‘Bonding With Baby’ Courses throughout the year, I invite parents with baby’s to ‘Come relax & have fun with your little one,’ supporting them to build confidence as a new parent, encouraging them to listen to and respect baby’s communication with a nurturing trust. Parents are encouraged to respond to their baby’s needs, as they would at home, trust their mothering instinct and let their baby lead them, whilst developing skills confidently in Infant Massage or in the Rhythm Kids baby exercise & rhyme programme.

Best Post-Natal Activity and…

Having taught hundreds of families over those 4 years, I was blown away to receive an email saying I had been Nominated for an Award in 2015 by parents who had attended my courses. When voting opened, I contacted previous parent attendees to ask them to vote for ‘Bonding With Baby’ and was so glad I had…. as 2 months later I was informed I had made it successfully through to the Finals! Travelling to the Awards Ceremony at Drayton Manor in Birmingham, honestly, I felt a bit out of my depth! Me and my wee business, yes just me – doing it all – from organising, advertising and running Parent Education courses, setting up & running my website and social media sites, networking, events, finance, office admin, cleaning, shopping for materials….. and now – attending an Awards Ceremony!!! With so many other national businesses in the running, I was ecstatic to be announced as the ‘Best Post-Natal Activity’ in 2015 – WOO HOO! Having no ‘boss’ as such, I always gather Parent Evaluations at the end of each ‘Bonding With Baby’ course. I tell parent attendees – they (and their baby) are my bosses, and as the WO4K Awards are VOTED FOR BY PARENTS these awards mean so much to me & my local independent business ‘Bonding With Baby.’ 2017, saw ‘Bonding With Baby’ reach the WO4K Award finals again and I was amazed to receive the ‘Best Baby/Toddler Class’ Award but unfortunately could not make the Awards Ceremony as my own baby was expected around then. Thankfully they still allowed me to take part and, whilst still in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital starting life as a new Mummy, I received an email to say I had won another award! WOW! What a double celebration!!
